Yes, CMX candidates can retake each exam Level as many times as they want.

If you re-register for an exam in the same level you failed, you can remove the enrollment fee during your registration. The enrollment fee is waived for re-registrations made for the same Level and within 1 year after candidates received the results stating they failed. This discount is cumulative and can be applied along with other promotions.

As an example, the full price of a Level 2 exam is $200. Therefore, for candidates retaking this exam will only have to pay $140, as the enrollment fee of $60 has been waived. This $60 discount is applied as well for Early Bird price or any other active promotion.

All CMX candidates will receive a digital badge upon passing levels 1 and 2. After passing level 3, however, they will receive a digital badge and also the CMX digital certificate, which has a print-ready high-quality PDF format. We also recommend you add certification@eicom.org to your email safe sender list, to ensure you receive all communication about the CMX exams and certificates.

By default, all CMX candidates will receive a digital badge for their achievement upon passing levels 1 and 2. After passing level 3, however, they will receive a digital badge and also the CMX digital certificate, which has a print-ready high-quality PDF format. 

CMX titleholders can also opt to receive a paid high-quality paper certificate sent by  mail, for an additional USD $50 per certificate. This high quality paper certificate has EICOM Institute handcrafted wax seal.

Notice: Only people approved on the CMX Level 3 exam can purchase a printed copy of the certificate.

You will not lose your CMX title if you don’t pass another CMX level 3 exam, so long as you have received your CMX title within the last two years. Your CMX title will expire two years after the date in which you received your CMX results by email, unless you pass another CMX Level 3 exam before the expiration date.

The validity of each CMX level certificate and the CMX title is two years, starting from the date in which you receive your CMX results by email. We recommend you check the validity of your CMX title by visiting our CMX member search page, and take the next step in your CMX journey or renew your CMX title, before it expires.

For CMX Level 3, in exceptional manners, the validity can be extended upon proof of contribution to the digital commerce field or continuous learning in the area. A few months before the title expires, CMX Titleholders are contacted via email and are required to fill out a form detailing their contributions to the digital commerce field during the period in which they held the title. The answers are analyzed, and extensions are granted to those who demonstrate that they have kept their knowledge and contributions current. This extension policy applies exclusively to CMX Level 3; Levels 1 and 2 are not eligible for validity extension. Only one validity extension can be granted per Certificate Number, and after expiration, candidates must retake the CMX Level 3 exam.

Being certified with any level of the Commerce Management Certification is an acknowledgement of your skills and expertise as a digital commerce professional. Please ensure you read about how to use your CMX title, for correct use by CMX Candidates and Titleholders.

If you don’t pass any CMX exam, you can register here to take the same CMX exam level on the next available date.

To pass CMX Level 1 and CMX Level 2, you must achieve a minimum score of 70% overall, and a minimum of 50% in each knowledge dimension.

For CMX Level 3, the minimum score is set after each exam administration. The purpose for this approach is to ensure fairness to candidates as the difficulty of each exam is taken into account when setting the minimum score to pass.

You can find the expected release date of your CMX exam results on the CMX calendar page. The number of weeks between the exam day and results release will depend on the CMX exam level, due to the different exam structures.
